This awesome piece of clothing was crafted in a family-owned, outdoor studio that has been passed down for three generations. The artisans who made it were paid a fair wage, and the studio even has a daycare and garden on site. Located in Madras, India, this workshop combines the best of both worlds by using state-of-the-art Japanese sewing machines alongside traditional methods like hand embroidery, hand loomed fabrics, and natural dyes to create a truly unique and contemporary product. The majority of the workers in this factory are women, and they have even partnered with a rehabilitation center to help women who have been affected by domestic violence. Our team spent around two months working in this amazing workshop.
